Artwork with stickers

Fina has been drawing like crazy the last couple days. She got some new crayons. First is just a sweet little family portrait she drew:
I love that she wrote all of our names.

The next one is Belle's house. I loved the doors.

Sleeping Beauty got lost in the forest, luckily a rabbit found her. He's got a little house up in a tree, and she can climb up and sleep on the pillow with the shoe tonight.

The next one is Snow White's house. Belle is visiting. The brown under Snow White are ladders, which you climb up to get to her bedroom.

And saving the best for last, here's a portrait she drew of fat moose. It bears a striking resemblance.
(It's also the first drawing she's done that has a torso instead of being just a head with legs.)

Red eyed tree frog

The brown parts are his toes :) They have long sticky toes you know.

Our plant

I like the curly bottoms on the plant stand.

Drawings

Try to ignore the stupid notebook lines. My scanner was refusing to pick up her crayon marks so I had to turn the contrast up and then the pictures came out looking weird.

A bee flying over a sunflower.
A pair of squirrels. The pink one is named momdad and the other one is apparently sevas
And a girl. I asked if the lines by her mouth were teeth and she said, "no silly, those are those lines that grown-ups have by their lips!"

A delicious beverage

I love the straw and I love how she got the shape of the cup right instead of just making a rectangle. I'd be a little disturbed if someone served me a colorful drink where all the parts didn't mix together, but that's just me. (Sorry it's wrinkled, she had hung it on the fridge and Eloise likes to rip the artwork off the fridge and crumple it. Sister jealousy or something.)

Art

Fina got a new dot-to-dot book and made this crazy colorful whale.
And as a bonus, Eloise insisted she needed to draw too and drew this very colorful art:

Catapult

We bought this kit to build a little wooden catapult a very long time ago. The pieces just came as wood and Fina had to sand them and paint them and then wait for it all to dry so we could assemble it. We painted while Eloise napped this morning, and glued it all together while John cooked dinner.
Fina carefully fitting the pieces together.

As a bonus, she took the camera away and photographed the finished product herself. Tomorrow we're going to go outside and I'll show her how to shoot it, if i can find some appropriate tiny projectiles.

A picture of Grandma and Mocha

Just a picture that Fina took out the car window when we were leaving from my parents' house yesterday.

8-30 yellowstone pictures

Eloise was making kind of off faces at Fina today, but don't worry, I have like 57 off face pictures.
After a while she said, "WANT!" and reached her hand out to Fina.

Here's a big truck pushing dirt.

A photograph

I think Eloise looks like me in this picture (of course we look alike, we're both blurry).

Mosquitoes!

Last night Fina was in the mood to draw mosquitoes. This is "a vicious looking one with a tail biting an upside down girl":
This one is actually the first one she drew, she drew it before she asked to look at pictures of mosquitoes on the computer so it doesn't have the V-shaped beak of her later drawings:
And on this one she wrote what it was, just in case you had any question:

Light switch covers

I found this craft kit while I was cleaning that makes light switch covers. It was pretty nice because it was just peel and stick so Fina could do it herself with minimal assistance.

First she made this lovely lady and who we hung up in her bedroom:
That was so fun that she needed to make this dapper fellow for our hall:
Then she made this creeper for the bathroom, but the bathroom has an outlet with the light switch so we had to hang it in the living room instead.
The best part? They glow in the dark.

Eloise

If you hate seeing babies with ketchup on their faces, look away now. Fina got the camera tonight after dinner and took several pictures, mostly of the television but a few of her sister.
I like the blurry background on this one.

EXTREME close-up

Look, the tongue does fit inside the mouth.

"Jig-Sew"

Fina got these awesome vintagey sewing card things on Monday, and we figured that today while Eloise was napping would be a good time to pull them out. I was afraid they would be too hard for her, but of course she did just fine. She was getting a little silly at the very end, and I was like, "come on, we only have 2 stitches left and then we can hang it on your wall!"
Extreme concentration

Are you really surprised that she chose the creepy clown design first? Also, don't you love that she used a different color yarn to sew each piece? I thought it was really creative.

We hung it on her wall when it was finished, as the back of the package suggested. She was super proud.

Eloise in a cage ;)

Fina had my camera this morning, so now it contains about 37 pictures of the tv and/or computer, 18 self portraits:
And a few pictures of Eloise when she had just woken up and I was out putting laundry in the washer:
Baby in a cage!
Big smiles.
So cute.

Gimme that camera.

pictures in the car

Not shown are the approximately 100 pictures taken "out the windshield" where all you can see is John's and my shoulders/arms.

Pictures of Eloise?

Yesterday Fina and Eloise were in on my bed, and I could hear Fina's camera clicking away. I was thinking, "aww, how sweet, she's taking pictures of Eloise."
But when I looked at the pictures later, it became clear that she was actually trying to take pictures of the light up bear,

and Eloise just happened to be there. The bear gets progressively further from Eloise, until the last picture on the camera where he is in Fina's hand.

Valentines

Serafina got invited to a Valentine's party on Monday, so she made valentine cards today. I just printed her out a generic template and then set her loose with crayons and stickers. I love how they turned out, way better than they would have if I sat there and told her to color the hearts red and then add exactly 3.2 stickers to each card. I am glad that I bought her copious amounts of stickers. Here's my 3 favorite cards:
